Typical Physical Demands: Requires sitting for long periods of time, some standing, stooping, bending and reaching is required and may require lifting up to 30 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate and computer and telephone as well as normal range of hearing and vision. Qualifications: Strong interest in health promotion. College level education or work experience equivalent. Knowledge and work experience in a medical setting. Strong math skills and attention to detail. Familiarity with medical coding and insurance applications is a plus. Strong computer skills needed with both Windows and Macintosh computer software. Must be able to work in a team environment and maintain strict patient confidentiality, have good communication skills and be motivated to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be able to travel for training/meetings in Idaho, Oregon, Washington and beyond as needed. Must be able to pass a background check and agree to abide by Tribe's Drug and Alcohol Policy. Duties and Responsibilities: • Enter medical records and billing data into the Resource Patient Management Software, including initial document information (Purchase Order Obligation) and completed payment information. • Enter patient demographics and accounts receivable data into MacPractice software. • Run regular reports for immunizations, GPRA and diabetes. • Create forms as needed such as flow sheets, encounter forms, payment requests, etc. • Assist with health audits and grant reports. • Prepare patient lab/records requests and any other correspondence as needed. • Patient scheduling for all providers at the Tribal Health Clinic. • Office supply requisition. • Patient enrollment for insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, etc. • Assist with medical chart audits. • Assist with reception duties such as answering phones, faxing documents, scheduling patient appointments, checking patients in for appointments, etc. as needed. • Electric Health Record data entry as needed. • Assist with health promotion events when needed. • Assist patients with social service needs as they present. • Assist with gathering patient vital signs upon check-in as needed. • Maintain patient confidentiality and quality of care. • Other administrative duties as assigned.
